Mountain Villages: Arkadi - Margarites - Melidoni - Axos
If you want to see the real face of Crete, its authentic way of life and unspoiled traditions, join us on a trip to the area of Psiloritis, Crete's highest and majestic mountain range.
Our first stop is the Monastery of Arkadi, a Greek national monument. This beautiful renaissance-style complex also has a tragic and heroic history and a visit there will give you a first insight into the Cretan soul.
Then we continue on to the village of Margarites, where the art of pottery has been practised for centuries. You will visit the workshop of a potter for a live demonstration and then have free time to wander about the village with its many shops.
Next stop is the cave of Melidoni with impressive stalagmites and stalactites, and again, a symbol of the Cretan fight for independence.
Our coach will then climb up high in the mountains, to the village of Axos, where you can see traditional art of weaving that the area is famous for before enjoying a light lunch with Cretan specialities in a typical family-run taverna.

Samaria Gorge Long Way
Stretching for some 16 km through the White Mountains, the George of Samaria is one of Europe's longest and wildest. Hiking through the gorge and descending from an altitude of almost 1.000m to sea level is a fantastic experience if you are a nature lover and active person.
Imbros Gorge
This gorge, that runs parallel to its bigger neighbour Samaria, is only 8km long and easily accessible also for less experienced hikers or families. The gorge is absolutely beautiful, with lots of opportunities for pictures of the impressive rock formations and the surrounding mountains.

You will arrive in Heraklion via a cozy motor coach following your journey along the National Road. One of the most significant palaces of the Minoan civilization, the once-beautiful Knossos Palace, is what made this town famous. Mythology claims that it was the home of the fabled King Minos and is associated with exciting tales like the Labyrinth and the myth of the Minotaur.
